Researchers found low concentrations of so-called forever chemicals in various “eco-friendly” straws, raising doubts about whether they’re an appropriate alternative.
If we don’t just start using metal straws, agave straws should become standard. They’re compostable, and are capable of composting in the anaerobic environment of landfills. After making tequila, the rest of the plant goes to waste. Let’s look at the “reuse” part of the 3 R’s
I have a theory which is: just fuck straws
There are a lot of disabled people who really need them, though.
That’s reasonable, but I imagine far more than 90% of straws dispensed are to people who don’t physically require a straw.

How about a spoon? Anyway, I would speculate that boba straws constitute a very small portion of straws used.
And straws account for very little of the petroleum use and plastic waste in the world, yet here we are.
