“Everyone that disagrees with me is a shill”
Listen, I’m going to hold my nose and vote for Biden in November because a Trump victory risks the end of democracy in the US, but I’m so tired of this idea that all criticism of him, and anyone who disagrees with us about whether to vote for him, is a victim of some kind of conspiracy.
That isn’t to say that people don’t want to exploit those divisions and will try to spread misinformation to do so, but that isn’t an excuse to dismiss everyone you disagree with either.
Ernest! So sorry to hear about the struggles. Happy you responded, I’ll stick around :)
Do consider adding more devs to the team! Not good that you are feeling pressure from dorks like us just because you need some time for yourself (or are working on things less visibly)
It’s such a shame, I really hope Ernest is ok. And I guess the once again lesson here is something like this needs a dev team and not just one person.
I’ll stick around for a few more days to see what’s going on, but if nothing changes I guess I’ll have to move on to something else.
Listen, I will be voting for Biden, who is clearly worlds better than Trump. But the idea that Palestinian Americans who won’t vote for someone funding the ethnic cleansing of their own family members are “purity test” losers is…well, its a take.
I certainly agree that, in a vacuum, a slip up like this is no big deal. But given the rest of the special counsel report, it is really just one data point in a huge cluster of red flags. I really wish he would step down. Trump has to be defeated, and between this and Gaza, he is really looking like far from the best candidate to do that.
Hear hear!
Wait so is the thought that any criticism of Biden is both-sidesing? Is that the political climate we’ve found ourselves in? Forbidden to criticize someone with a D after their name because idiots might think “oh I guess now I’ll vote for Trump”?
I have the same problem
For some, “never again” means “never again let this happen to any People”, to others, it means “never again let this happen to us”. Unfortunately, it is much more common in the Israeli right to understand it the second way.
This minister in particular didn’t serve because he was considered a suspected terrorist. Too far right for the IDF - almost impressive.
By and large Otzma Yehudit voters do serve in the army. You are confusing Religious Zionists (who do serve, and make up the bulk of the far-right and settlers in Israel) with the Ultra-Orthodox (who do not serve, and largely don’t have views about the conflict and are more worried about social programs for their community who are by and large poor).
Honestly I hate the way this article is written, like yeah, let’s dunk on some random Russian citizens for complaining when things are worse in Ukraine. As if they have some kind of say in what Putin and his cronies are up to. I’m not against the Ukrainian drone attacks, but we need to stop with this general anti-Russian sentiment.
Come on, misogyny is definitely part of the ideology of the right, but let’s not act like there aren’t plenty of liberal misogynists - have you ever read a Reddit thread having anything to do with women?
Absolutely, but I think we will have to be vigilant to keep that culture here as the place continues to grow.
