Two Egyptian security sources had told Reuters that a ceasefire in southern Gaza to last several hours had been agreed to begin at 0600 GMT on Monday to allow for the entrance of aid, as well as limited evacuations of foreign passport holders from Gaza.
However, Israel denied that.
“There is currently no truce and humanitarian aid in Gaza in exchange for getting foreigners out,” a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said.
Hamas official Izzat El-Reshiq also told Reuters there was no truth to media reports that Rafah was reopening or that there was a ceasefire.
The Egyptian security sources say they were perplexed by the Israeli denial after having received confirmations previously.
Left hand not knowing what right does? Maybe even hands and head disagreeing. Military level (or diplomatic negotiating level, whom ever the actual people working are) people agreeing to cease fire (out of pragmatism) and then political leadership level denying anything was agreed, since that would look like being soft on enemy?
Did you see that Israeli Officer interrupt that live broadcast of a journalist. First threatening him to make sure he’s reporting the “truth” and then walking up to the camera and loudly stating that they were going to wipe out Gaza and exterminate the inhabitants?
That was a military officer. He felt comfortable enough openly stating extermination as the goal on a live broadcast.
Dogs. Dogs on both sides.
Do you have a link to that?
