I’m certainly not trying to break the rules here. But my understanding is that DMT and DM were already mentioned as being different from other communities on the instance and to my knowledge I haven’t really posted anything that similarly themed posts didn’t already exist for.
Now I’m not wanting for EH to be defederated nor am I trying to shove things in that direction. But at the same time, I feel like a lot of places are going to defed us anyway and don’t really agree with the sentiment that we should censor ourselves on the off chance that we could potentially offend someone on other instances just to maybe avoid the threat of being defedded… That’s essentially just caving in to what I see as unreasonable demands. As I said, anybody who dislikes me, my comments, my posts, Dank Memes in general, or the entire EH instance can block those things already at the individual user level.
Your comment seemed to be implying that I specifically was hitting bandwidth limits or something like that which I very much doubt… Especially bc I post everything manually (not bots/scripts/apis anything like that). Compared to traffic of say certain memes subreddits, my post quantity is nothing. Even compared to some of the larger lemmy instances, I don’t think it’s that much.
If I hear from admins here that I’m in the wrong and they want me to stop, I will. If they want me to delete my posts and/or comments, I will. Obviously, they also have the option to ban me if it came to it. But again, I don’t feel like I’m in the wrong here. If the admins care to weigh in, I will definitely follow orders as well as taking any general suggestions of theirs to mind for the future… But I think cowing to other instances just out of principal is also not right.
