I appreciate the response. I was also on escitalopram. So far other than the expected brain shocks and moodiness, it’s been great. Both of those are starting to mellow out and reduce in frequency. How has it been for you since?

At the time COVID started, I was a developer working for a health department’s communicable disease reporting team. With automated case reporting…

I was so stressed out. I ended up leaving for my own mental and physical health, I was worried I was going to have a stroke or a coronary.

Glad you were able to extricate yourself from that situation as well!.

Im doing excellent now. That was about 2 years ago. There was a gradual improvement in all metrics over the course of about 6 months (i was on lexapro for 4 years).

I was working for a medical equipment supplier (respirators and defibrillators) over the course of covid. As you can imagine, the demand for our devices increased insanely over lockdown. The environment was already toxic pre pandemic so I had to get the heck out. Found a much better situation with much nicer people - kindof like reddit to lemmy. Lol

As far as going off the escitalopram - i recommend being gentle with yourself and taking one day at a time. Depending on how long you took it, it may be a longer or shorter process. When i rediscovered libido and everything that goes with that, i found that it was a little different. I had to recalibrate a bit physically. I found my way back from the dependency and now im in a happy fulfilling relationship with a newborn son.

      I wish you the best!
