I don’t think I’ll ever see a talking head less convincing than Bill Maher. I know self-obsession and narcissism come with the territory of being a late-night host, but no one does it worse than him.
Most of these assholes at least have clear points they’re making. Bill’s “point” is just that he’s a genius, and you should listen to what he says and nod along sagely. But even as he plays that “I’m just stating the obvious!” card as he often does, he can’t reach for anything tangible or concrete to say. “Sorry, kids! China does some bad things! They’re the new Islam!” What am I even supposed to take away from that? I hate him so much.
