Six years for unarmed robbery?
I don’t want to say public defenders are worthless, its a really important job, but his was entirely unhelpful. And he made the number one mistake of getting arrested in the US, he was poor. Guess he was lucky he didn’t make the other major mistake, being born anything other than white.
The ones that actually try are overwhelmed by a broken system designed not to investigate or protect, but to extract plea deals.
