KEVIN ROBERTS (HERITAGE FOUNDATION PRESIDENT): In spite of all this nonsense from the left, we are going to win. We’re in the process of taking this country back. No one in the audience should be despairing.

No one should be discouraged. We ought to be really encouraged by what happened yesterday. And in spite of all of the injustice, which, of course, friends and audience of this show, of our friend Steve know, we are going to prevail.

Number two, to the point of the clips and, of course, your preview of the fact that I am an early American historian and love the Constitution. That Supreme Court ruling yesterday on immunity is vital, and it’s vital for a lot of reasons. But I would go to Federalist No. 70.

This is the same logic Nazis used. The narrative was that Jews forced their hand by refusing to comply with their demands.

Make no mistake, this is a promise of bloodshed. They just want to sound like they want peace and that they’ll have to kill to get it.

      Kill them first.

Its an incestuous relationship between them, they feed into eachother. If it wasnt for PragerU and similar propagandistic groups the upper think tanks would be a lot weaker in influence, then once they have more power they immediately dump it into the propagandists who can spread their influence farther

Im personally in the if you wipe out the propaganda arms ya will have an infinitely easier time, Fox, OAN, PragerU, and talk radio as a whole not to mention Youtubers are basically the only thing maintaining the on the ground elements of the Right wing. They fet bored easily and would probably just do boring normal crap if you stripped away the propaganda, hell they may get happier in some cases a car parts store in my area changed out fox news on the TV in favor of a super playlist of youtube videos going over old weird cars like Yugos and Polskis. This has limited the rightwing grousing in there.

100% agree with you, only contention I would make is that none of those propaganda outlets would exist without the societies that preceded them by a few decades. But from a dismantling their power perspective you are quite on point about destroying their implements of radicalization

        Not in the slightest.

They and the federalist society are the ones pushing the absolutely disgusting changes the Republican party is trying to make. They give the “short list” of judges for Republicans presidents to choose from. They are fully responsible for the shit we’re about to go through now that their project is almost complete.

You can’t beat cheaters and liars and thieves and murderers by playing by the rules and being nice and polite. If the Democrats don’t do something, democracy is gone in November and it won’t be coming back to the USA.

I hear ya, but we also know the window for legally resolving this constitutional crisis is quickly closing. So I take this talk as sort of, “this is where we are heading if things don’t change”. I don’t support the coming of these times, but I do want to highlight the urgency. We do not want a version of “The Troubles” like the Irish did.

Look at his words a little deeper, and you’ll pick up the thinly veiled message. He’s not saying anything that a rapist has not said to a victim before, during, and after the act. What he said was “as bloodless as the left will allow”.Said another way, “Don’t resist our brazen coup attempt and you will not be harmed. Everything is going to be okay. Don’t resist, don’t struggle, don’t fight. Just let it happen. You want this, I can tell.”

I asssume both of us realize ‘vote blue no matter who’ won’t be enough. The DNC doesn’t exist as a bulwark against fascism. It’s only function is to operate as a hand of corporate interest. Currently the DNC is used as a way to corner us to the edge of a cliff so they can clip off the weak ones then drive the rest off the ledge.

If there was a way out, right now, it would be straight through. Except corpo rightly expect that you will cling to your way of life until the very end. Maybe if, when we were younger, they told us, “Some day you will have to make a choice. Chose to cling to your material possessions or to cling to each other. One will directly effect the other. Prepare yourself everyday until that point.”

Even then, we know now 30% for sure aren’t giving up their “stuff” no matter what. The rest. We will see I suppose.

I think most informed people understand that voting for Biden isn’t the cure-all. We are a car without breaks careening down a cliff side, winding, pothole-filled road slick with a fresh spill from a septic truck and we are faced with turning one direction and driving off the cliff or turning the other and staying on the rough road knowing there is at least a chance of it clearing up and hopefully offering some better intersections ahead. At least Joe’s team is trying to hose off the sewage and is willing to hear you out about the asphalt-guy you know that can handle the job. The other guy’s side has Ivan’s Forestry Specialists on speed dial and just needs the cash advance to pay him, then he will totally be here any day to fix the roads cause he totally does that too. Also he is a pilot, so you should totally trust him that he can land the car if you go off the cliff…there sure are some nice roads down there at the bottom. Biden, or even Democrats won’t fix everything. They will be conservative-lite, but the other option in our flawed system is conservative-FOREVER. The problem with your “we must all give up everything and probably go homeless to protest and rebel” is the prisoner’s dilemma. We all go in 100% or we lose… permanently. Those of us not dead set on going all-in, because we know others won’t (not even debatable), want to maintain the status quo as the only good option, so we can at least fix the “we lose… permanently” part.

Or maybe I am an idiot and haven’t eaten today. Those are my 3¢(inflation).

          • Oh, I don’t discourage people from voting biden. Go ahead and vote. I honestly believe there is nothing left to say about the election or there wasn’t the moment we knew Trump was the nominee.

Everyone go vote. Please. You’d be stupid not to.

Ironically, people fleeing persecution of the Anglican religion in England and wanting to worship God in their own way (still Puritan though) was basically the number one thing that gave America its start, and therefore formed the strongest core of its identity. You hear more about the “go west young man” type of independence loving peoples, bc it is more recent and there are TV shows depicting it made with less time intervening between its end and their construction - i.e. cowboy westerns. Shows that depict the former are much more rare though, e.g. Salem.

Until recently, the vast majority of Americans considered themselves Christian, at least in theory - like, even if they almost never went to church. And the stories we tell are full of Judeo-Christian themes of fairness and virtue and living “rightly”, like King Arthurian myths (as opposed to e.g. cunning and craftiness uplifted in other parts of the world, e.g. Aladdin or most Russian tales).

But the key is: who stands between you and God? Nobody? (=freedom) Or some old, rich, landowning white man? “Nobody” implies a terrible burden of personal responsibility, somewhat akin to running your own Linux server and even having installed Arch btw (at least once sometime, for the experience if not a daily driver), whereas “big daddy corpo-king takes care of you” seems to be the philosophy that rules the current day:-(.

Translation: we gave up our freedom for the sake of convenience. And now we are all too weak pushovers to be able to stand up to what’s coming next. Oh well, Rome fell too - it’s not like we were going to exist forever.

Also, Rome did not have the stock market. That has to have shaved off at least 100 years right there.

Tbf, Rome actually ended, whereas for the USA we might not “end” so much as convert from a democracy into a dictator with an emperor at the top. Now, why does that sound familiar all of a sudden…?

Yeah, you kinda gotta think about it…if the US falls, it won’t fail and die, it will become evil. What side do you want them to be on in this next big war brewing? The world wars with the US on the other side seems rough for every good and decent person. Hell, Ukraine would be in a bad spot if the US was actively fighting along side the orks…well, Ukraine would be West-russia already, and that isn’t even intending to speak ill of the Ukrainian heroes, it is just a shitty hypothetical reality. The US a big greedy resource vacuum that lets their corporations push them to meddle in world affairs, but they are also the insane PTSD soldier turned cop of the classroom keeping the other bully kids in line. It is a weird place to be, but the US feels like a floodgate that is tolerated, because without it, we have real bad things in the waters it holds back. So frustrating.

I’m not holding my breath for a change in the hegemony over the world towards Russia or China to be any better. I’m not pretending that an 80 year U.S. imperialism has been anything tolerable, either. This is unlike the Biden vs Trump situation, too. When the alluded damage reduction has been the primary damage creation source with such an intensity to create whole regions and families of militant and/or terrorist organizations directly and uncontrollably terrorizing common people, one might wonder if a monolithical state apparatus can be tried as an option for the common folk than a democracy for the privileged.

In before “tankie” screamed at me, check the start of the paragraph again. All I’m saying is that the PTSD soldier turned cop in your analogue may be keeping the other bullies in line, but is also leading to the creation of more bullies all the while doing the bullying themselves. It is not a floodgate, either. It is another obstacle in the lava of evil that causes the lava to flow from a different channel, not leading to any more further than the other channels while putting a blockade on them.
