You don’t have to hold their hand, you could for example say “those are political factions in Taiwan,” and that’s that, but criticizing someone for saying they don’t understand is gatekeeping, shitty behavior. Assuming their political alignment (and then denigrating them for that assumed alignment), all based on their seemingly good natured request for clarification is additionally shitty.
