The soldiers were preparing explosives to demolish two buildings when a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at a nearby tank, setting off the explosion prematurely and causing the buildings to collapse on them.
According to the IDF’s report, 13 soldiers were killed by friendly fire after being mistaken for enemy combatants, one from a stray bullet and another six in various accidents, such as being run over by armored vehicles.
There was a video of a Hamas militant planting an RPG round on a tank and sliding back into a tunnel. Then there was also the israeli point of view of the same event of them watching the tank from atop a building ~250 metres away.
The first thing the IDF watchers did after the explosion was unload their entire magazines onto the tank and it’s vicinity.
Skill issue.
Seems like they’re having some of that.
(Not from the posted incident btw)
