Dealing drugs to, to - fuel a Lego habit? WTF?
The 74 Lego sets were worth more than the drugs.
A Latrobe Valley man has had his Lego collection confiscated after police seized more than $600,000 worth of drugs.
74 boxes at $9k each would be worth more for sure. I just want to know where he’s getting these sweet discounts.
they certainly cost more
Build your own crack pipe!
“Overwhelmingly what users believe is GHB is actually 1,4-butanediol,” he said.
Cool, so give people a safe way to check what they have or be assured of the sources quality control.
There is absolutely no safe amount to ingest
There isn’t really room to reconcile the stance of ‘this isn’t safe - at all’ and ‘here, test how safe this drug is in this safe place’.
(I know nothing about the drugs themselves, so I have no position on that. Just that I can understand the difficulty for the health department to implement what you’re asking for.)
First off that’s a cop, they’re liars not chemists. Erowid has reports from people using this chemical recreationally and while it does mention risks, it seems that it’s safe for many of the users.
But more importantly and what I was getting at is that people would be able to tell if they were taking the somewhat safer GHB or being given dodgy 14B if they had safe access to test these drugs so they know what they’re actually getting.
nooooooooooooo not the lego
Won’t it end up in some sort of Police auction at some point?
minus the blue five finger tax
$600k worth of drugs
Meanwhile bricks of coke are washing up along the east coast 🤣
This is the best summary I could come up with:
A Latrobe Valley man has had his Lego collection confiscated after police seized more than $600,000 worth of drugs.
The 45-year-old man was arrested after police from Fawkner searched five properties in Morwell, Essendon North, Brunswick and South Melbourne.
Police say they seized 180 kilograms of 1,4-butanediol, a chemical that mimics the drug GHB when ingested, 34kg of iodine and 32kg of hypophosphorus acid, which are both precursors in methylamphetamine production.
Illegal steroids, methylamphetamine, a handgun, an extendable baton, ammunition and three digital devices were also seized.
The Morwell man is facing 10 charges, including trafficking a large commercial quantity of a drug of dependence, committing an indictable offence on bail, and dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of a crime.
The man was remanded overnight and will appear before the Latrobe Magistrates’ Court today.
The original article contains 213 words, the summary contains 136 words. Saved 36%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
I love that we have to cop a cavity search from an uppity chemist trying to buy a box of headache tablets, yet somehow these people have no probs buying 180kg of a GHB alternative
That lock Legos up at Target around here.
That Lego could have been quickly converted into cash without much fuss. Not the most space efficient way to launder money but it makes a lot of financial sense.
