I thought it looked incredible. It wasn’t on my radar until yesterday now I’m excited.
My only reservation is that it seems to follow the trend of having the protagonist be constantly being quippy with the the sidekick which is annoying after a while.
I’m not a fan of Ubisoft, which is why it’s confusing that I’m a little excited for this one.
That being said, I will definitely be careful and wait for sale, still knowing it’s Ubisoft.
Also if it isn’t on Steam, it’ll have to be even cheaper.
I also have reservations regard Ubisoft, but this is as close to Star Wars 1313 as we’re gonna get now. It’s so refreshing to not be a Jedi in a star wars video game.
May the cautiousness be with you.
It also gives me big star wars ragtag vibes too
1313 getting cancelled is one of the biggest disappointments in gaming in recent memory.
I’m sure it’ll be on Steam. No achievements and shitty UbiConnect requirements on top of it, too.
I know basically nothing about this game but I’m completely burned out on the Ubisoft open world model of a huge map completely littered with mindless collectible junk and grindy side-quests. Is there reason to hope that this will be different than the same junk Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry have been pushing out, or are most expecting the same thing in a Star Wars setting?
I’m certain a year or two so they talked about how they had started to amalgamate features from their games across the board and how is stifled in house creativity (I’ve got no source on this at the moment but I’m sure i remember this) and how they’re going to be starting to move away from that.
If this is true then this is likely one of the first games to try and move away from that stone this would likely have been started after that was said.
I suppose I’ll believe it when I see it. Thanks for the context though!
I’m skeptical, but not enough to write it off completely just yet. Definitely skeptical enough to not preorder, though.
You should never preorder games anyway, you should always wait for actual customer reviews to back up what the big reviewers say
I haven’t sat down to watch the trailer yet, but if this is basically The Division with a Star Wars skin, I won’t be mad at it.
Isn’t it more likely that it’ll just be a Ubisoft open world game full of bloat?
Seems to have more actual story to it than the Division does at least from the trailer. I thought it was going to be Far Cry based and was then surprised to see the studio.
I don’t know why people think Massive is somehow more independent than other Ubisoft studios. They’ve worked on both the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry games just like every other studio owned by Ubisoft.
I honestly have no idea how independent the various studios are.
Typically they have one main studio leading a project that’s being supported by half a dozen of their other studios. That’s why they were able to churn out Assassin’s Creed games annually. Massive did support work on AC: Revelations and Far Cry 3 before they got their own project with The Division.
Obviously now that they’re leading two huge projects with Avatar and Outlaws, they are getting a ton of support from other Ubisoft studios.
Do ubisoft generally play nicely with game pass?
