By standard social definitions, I’m a broke student
This, i believe, is one of the biggest faults of society/social media which is not discussed enough. We are always chasing an unreachable goal of success which makes us constantly depressed.
I don’t mind public transport because it’s good enough for my needs
I mostly use public transport other than scenarios where it’s just not feasible (catching a flight at 6-7 am). What I meant to say is that I am fortunate enough to be in an area which has good public transport.
The big thing is that the Deck uses Linux which allows Steam to provide an amazing interface
For most people, i think it’s just that it has a good UI. They don’t bother whether it’s linux-powered. Maybe it’s possible to create a good UI in windows as well, but it will be bogged down by 100s of unwanted processes.
I see
I buy
Some games will refuse to work on Linux but their Android port might work. If Valve can make this process seamless, it could be a gamechanger. Example, Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves etc
I consider myself rich. This is how i have quantified it
I am extremely privileged. Sometimes I wonder if I even deserve it. I don’t think i will require any more money at this point. But people around me will call me middle-class because i’m not hustling enough. I don’t care to be honest; i’m at peace.

I’m sure Microsoft’s answer will be an Edge-powered handheld interface with the entire W11 OS underneath.

Microsoft: As long as Adobe, Office, Autodesk are on my side, I have nothing to worry about.
Looks like I really need to check gyro aiming.
You could also attach a keyboard and mouse, though I think that that kind of eliminates the point of the Deck, at least as long as one also has a PC to play on – it might make sense for someone who just uses a Deck and a phone.
In the worst case, i’ll buy a dock and play the FPS games via M/K. I am slowing getting better at slow third person games. Racing and platformers are not an issue. Other than FPS, the Steam Deck is very nice.
On a controller, if you’re slightly off center, suddenly it isn’t as simple, because the joystick is overly sensitive and so to move 1cm is a lighting fast action input, meaning that you’re almost guaranteed to overshoot it, unless your joystick sensitivity is super low.
This has been the biggest problem for me. I can’t aim at the enemies when are very far (small hitbox). I have been trying to strafe and put them on my crosshair but it needs a very different skill. I have been hearing a lot of people talking about FlickStick. I have to look it up.
Microsoft: So, what are you going to do about it? Stop using Windows? Hah!
What’s even more funny is that they already have two, somewhat decent, interfaces which are meant for touch; Win8 tablet UI and Windows Phone Live Tiles UI.
If they want, they can easily work upon them, make them controller-friendly, and bake it into Win11. But they are too stubborn to do it.
