  • New Zealand definitely has western influence, but at least we have MMP voting instead of First Past the Post, so we don’t have as strong of a two-party system. We also have a cost of living crisis but so does every western country. Our generally reasonable politics is one of the reasons why I’m not interested in moving to another country when so many of my friends are moving to Australia or the UK for higher salaries

    I agree. However, to me, something feels wrong about companies making money selling a product to people with the promise that they work when they don’t actually do anything in and of themselves. It’s false advertising plus taking money out of people’s pockets.

    It’s not split in half, it’s reversed, which is why both are equal to S. If you just took half, then 1 + 2 + … would not equal 100 + 99 + … and so they both wouldn’t be equal to S.

    Instead of halving the list, they just reversed it and summed it to 2S later, which they then half. So no typo here.
