WDYM?
The left will always deliver better quality of life for the working class.
The right likes to blame migrants and taxes which resonates with the working class.

Fuck yeah frogs. Well done.
I’m honestly a little envious.
Im so worried about the state of the world. The slide towards populism. The concentration of wealth. Climate change.
The worry doesn’t achieve anything and doesn’t fill my cup with joy. I wish I could just look at memes about local news and nannas cat or whatever.
Of course I’m interested in Australian politics.
You might do well to take an interest in the politics of US allies yourself.
I don’t have any interest in insulting you… and pretty much just too lazy to read your comment history.
I can’t speak for other Australians, bit I’m fascinated by US politics. It’s an absolute shit show and it serves as a cautionary tale for the rest of the world I think.
As to why we’re passionate about supporting biden… this is just supposition but:
Firstly voting in Australia is compulsory, so the idea of voting even if you’re not really enamoured with the options is more palatable. That said, we do have preferential voting so it’s not really the same.
Secondly the US is a close ally. US international policies are in many ways our own defacto policies. In some ways we would be burdened by a trump presidency.
Thirdly, and this is probably more “me” than Australians in general but I strongly believe that most conservative voters here are voting against their own interests for the wrong reasons, yet we seem to be leaning further and further to the right like everywhere else. I see criticism of Biden more or less the same way. They may be valid concerns but you still need the guy to win.
Perhaps I’m mis-remembering account names, but it seems like every comment from you is trying to undermine progressive votes.
Perhaps. I’m not expert but I’m just not convinced you’d get good compliance across instances.
After all, even minimal non- compliance makes the whole thing pointless
It would be great if everything could be classified in this way, but is it practically possible to apply a more complex system like this across instances, given that we struggle with the simpler NSFW tag?
If you can’t export / save / transfer codes then you need to regenerate all your 2fa codes every time you switch to a new device.
2FA doesn’t need to be infallible, it just needs to be a second factor.
Idiots. I’m certain that absolutely no one wants this. What a shit show.
Of course there is, it’s just not as far left as you would like.
That’s a false dichotomy.
I’ve never licked a frog so I don’t know.
It’s considered impolite to espouse political views here in Australia.
However, I’ve found that taking about issues rather than identities, with a modicum of diplomacy, is usually fine.
I think this would be a lot more difficult in the US with the issues at hand because you’re not deciding mundane things like whether to subsidise roof top solar but rather, whether autocracy would make a nice change.
Worse… making a public campaign to make biden withdraw, even if not successful, is a terrible idea.
Honestly, the worst possible thing for the left.
Not only a lame duck candidate, but public infighting to undermine support.
Jfc Americans. How did any one not know about project 2025?
The rest of the world is watching you elect your new supreme leader eternal and you guys are just sleep walking it through.
It’s not “turning your nose up” to refuse to support authoritarianism, even if it aligns with your ideals.
refuse.
That’s just not practically possible.
OP said they’re running a small business. It’s great that they want to fly the flag for FOSS, but they’re not in the business of promoting and advocating for FOSS. They still need to do the things they need to do.
Refusing to file your taxes on the grounds that the software provided is not open source is a great way to no longer be in business.
Sorry, wdym is “what do you mean?”
In Australia, the centre left has very strong ties with employee unions. They will always advocate for better terms for employees.
Sadly, much of the “working class” votes on the right because they think of themselves as something better than the working class, despite being poor. There’s a phrase “temporarily embarrassed millionaires”.
Further left we have the greens, and indeed they prioritise environmental issues over employee terms.
