Most terrifying thing about becoming a parent, as raising just how little of a clue my own parents must have had to start with. I mean, all that time I was feeling safe and really, is a marvel we didn’t all die in a bath tub fire event!
Civilization for me… I don’t mind the newer versions but I’m old enough that I’ve played it since Civ I and I do sort of feel like it’s lost something as the graphics have improved and animations were introduced. Still, irrespective of the version, every game is a little different and eats hours like nothing else.
That’s exactly his point though. It’s more a reminder, less a threat. It actually sort of touched on it in the article, China’s relationship to Putin vs the West.

They would never get a conviction on the statement alone though. What it probably would do, is lead to them turning over every stone in your life to find proof. They’d do that because it’s enough to arouse suspicion but not enough to get you convicted in any way.
I’d like to think that’s what good parents do though, make the kids feel safe and protected. Hopefully it means yours were good ones :)
