H coin to the moon. God awful song
hello weary traveller. please won’t you sit amd rest a while
H coin to the moon. God awful song
He was wanted in China for a litany of charges including corruption, fraud and r*pe, then fled to warm embrace of the USA. They had to finally arrest him in NY after he started doing too well at fleecing American citizens.
It looks to be Miles Guo (郭文贵)… a serial grifter currently jailed in the USA awaiting trial for fraud charges.
The group with him appears to be a FLG adjacent organisation set up to simultaneously shill a shitcoin called Himalaya Coin, push COVID-19 conspiracies, and establish a ‘New Federal State of China’ (NFSC).
It’s every bit as cooked as you think it is. I even watched one of Guo’s terrible songs he put out on YouTube to suck in more unwitting investors in his crypto scheme.

Yeah that makes sense. Unfortunately if it’s the maturity that’s appealing, then anything that’s ‘age appropriate’ may seem uncool by comparison.
I guess with Pokemon, the trick could be just to put episodes on anyway and see if that can supplant whatever other shows she may have previously zeroed in on. There’s a reason why Pokemon is as popular as it is.
If the show doesn’t have to be recent but still would need to be that sword fighter type of anime, you could try to introduce shows like Rurouni Kenshin or Inuyasha when appropriate. There’s still violence but not on the level of Demon Slayer. You can check the Parents’ Guide (this one for Inuyasha) on IMDB for advice on content and themes. I guess it’s up to you to determine what’s right for your child, so please don’t take these as out and out recommendations.
Edit: It turns out there’s a 2023 remake of Rurouni Kenshin. Here’s the Parents’ Guide for that series.
What are the ‘notes’ that appeal to her? Is it the setting, the art style, the story, or a mix?
Please don’t think I’m being unserious, but how about Pokemon? Much more age appropriate than Demon Slayer and ties into the games. It hits the ‘adventure’ note, has battling and the current series, Horizons, has a female protagonist, if that’s important to her.
Good luck finding something!

No worries. It looks like you’ve been given a lot of links and stuff to mull over in this thread, and I’ve enjoyed reading some of the explanations too. I’ll leave you to it and am happy to do further digging if you have questions and I have the time. Searching the Chinese web requires a bit more effort and know-how.
The Government is spoken for:
中央政治局在邓小平和其他老一辈革命家坚决有力的支持下,依靠人民,旗帜鲜明地反对动乱,并采取果断措施,在6月4日一举平息反革命暴乱,捍卫了社会主义国家政权,维护了人民的根本利益。
Rather than taking it as a difficult but decisive course of action, your comment implicitly accepts Western recreations that it was entirely a mistake, and something worthy of guilt.
I reiterate my previous point that these interpretations of the event are understandable, given the absence of ready access fulsome documentation from China’s side. I think China is or will soon be strong enough to publically face these histories online with maturity and nuance. Though currently with intense USA muck raking it may still be iffy.
Like you, I find the deaths surrounding 6/4 in whatever quantum regrettable. However I reject that you appear to be accepting the outsider perspective of the events seemingly whole cloth.

July?
I don’t see you interacting with Eat_Yo or my comments btw. Accepting your arguments in good faith, I’m going to say that I think you’ve misunderstood two things
Here is a (once again high level) Party summary of the circumstances surrounding the event, and some actions taken including the clearing of Tiananmen square on the morning of the 4th of June.
Articles I turn up since then appear to simply repudiate the USA’s position on the events without further substantiating China’s own. This is perhaps an oversight on China’s behalf to ‘set the record straight’ with readily accessible information online. I hope you turn up more information in your research.
Search for 六四政治风波 (4th of June political disturbances) rather than searching 天安门事件 (Tiananmen Incident). You’ll find high level references to the political situation at the time.
I only listened to it when learning more about Miles Guo for my reply in this thread. I wanted to see how awful the song was. I do not listen to it by preference lol.
