My parents pulled out a pack of condoms from my toiletries bag one time I visited for the weekend during university and my dad mocked me for having them.
On my 18th birthday I wanted to go out and spend the day with friends. My parents said they didn’t want me to and they wanted me to stay home. I said I was 18 and an adult and I wanted to spend my birthday out with my friends.
I leave and enjoy a few hours until I get a phone call from my dad. He says “Come home immediately, there’s been a huge accident with mom and your youngest brother. We need you home ASAP”.
I rush home in a panic, spent an hour on the way home preparing myself for the possibility that half my family had died.
Only to find out that he had “played a joke on me” to get me to come home as a power move. No accident. No ambulance, no injuries.
“You think you’re an adult but I will ALWAYS be in charge of you” was what he said.
I’m 30 now and haven’t spoken to him in over a decade. I don’t think much about him since he’s pathetic, but when I do, I imagine that he’s rotting alone and unable to manipulate other peoples physchology and emotions 🙂
People in the VR scene also hate Meta because all the eye tracking information is being harvested and sold to ad companies.

If I can pump out fake flood pictures, I can convince a couple million Americans that none of the flood images are real. That it’s ALL AI generated. Thus I can make roughly $100k on ad impressions and further convince people that climate change is a hoax.

Depending on where in the world you live, a very slight outline of a nipple is not considered erotic or “pornographic”. Wild that to some it’s in the same category as swastikas and hammer and sickles.

If your company is nationwide and has offices all over the country and you work on a distributed team where some people are on the west coast, some are central, and some are on the east coast. In this such event, none of your teammates will physically be able to tell if you are in the office. That’s what this feature is for.
So we can all continue to work from home, from a prescribed office of our employers choosing.

I use an HDMI switch to connect my computer and my chromecast to my projector since it only has one HDMI in port. Wireless comes with all sorts of possibilities for signal degradation (interference mainly, especially from wireless controllers or any smarthome stuff you may have).

These articles (which have now been pushed for months) detail how service delivery has “tanked” during the 4 years of working from home. They cite the time when passport applications were overwhelmed right when travel restrictions were being lifted during the pandemic and the long wait times. It’s not very honest.
To be fair, they got sold out by their leaders, their unions, and the entire general public. Every day a new article gets published in some big Canadian newspaper about how it’s a good thing that public servants are forced back into the office.
Appreciate the sentiment but it’s me vs thousands haha.
