We live in a society where the law is decided as much by precedent as by policy. Upon the wrongly convicted, those whose crimes harmed nobody, and those who were right to do what they did. If we don’t fight injustices against the deserving, that will be used to justify injustice against the undeserving.

He was making a point about how the ways neuronormative society expects people to think are highly culturally dependant. Einstein was of course the autistic person who proved our fundamental assumptions about spacetime wrong. Einstein was a great scientist precisely because he didn’t have any common sense. Common sense doesn’t reflect truth, it only reflects dominant social attitudes. Growing beyond those attitudes requires uncommon sense.

If Trump wins, dominant social attitudes will be fascist. Common sense will be fascist. But truth and science will remain leftist. They will be very political.
