  • I’m saying she’s not very good because of her many gaffs and avoidance of questions.

And why compare her to Boebert? Boebert is a shit stain who’s unqualified to work at a fruit stand, let alone be a congresswoman. You bring up her qualifications like you think it’s some new info.

I don’t understand how people think this type of deflection is worth anything. “You think this person is bad, well what about this other person who’s WORSE?!” Yea, that doesn’t make the first person better. This isn’t a fucking grade school popularity contest.

  • It doesn’t mean she’s unqualified, it just means more qualified candidates may have been passed over in favor of her because she’s more diverse. And considering how bad of a job she’s doing, if you are trying to make the claim that she WASN’T a DEI hire and she was hired solely because she was the best candidate, then you are making the claim that Biden and his cabinet are so incompetent that they can’t attract anyone talented who wants to work for them.

And don’t deflect with “well the horrible people during Trump were worse!” Yea, no shit. It was the Trump presidency. That changes absolutely nothing about KJP and why she was hired.

  • A clock shaped like a pile of rancid garbage is still right twice a day, as harsh as it is.

Karine Jean-Pierre is not a very good press secretary, And while I don’t know what the candidate pool was or what the vetting process was like, I think you’d be hard pressed to say that her being a black, LGBT, woman didn’t at all factor into her getting picked for the job. And while that’s not a bad thing, let’s not clutch our pearls and pretend calling her a DEI hire is some unhinged claim.

Ask yourself this, do DEI hires exist? Yes, they often do. Does KJP tick literally all the boxes for a DEI hire? She absolutely does.

  • Every artist complaining about AI art is like John Henry.

If AI is stealing because it’s using art in it’s learning algorithm, then so is every artist who has studied other artists for inspiration. AI just happens to do it a hell of a lot faster, kind of like how all technology does when it replaces any other form of labor. And while AI art can’t compete with the top 0.1% of artists, it can certainly compete with the bottom 99.9%, and it can produce thousands of images in the time it takes an artist to produce 1, which is plenty good enough for most applications.

No. AI art isn’t going anywhere. It’s too convenient and we’re not going to reverse course just to save jobs, something we have never done in the advancement of technology. No one stopped the steam engine driving railroad spikes because they wanted John Henry to keep his job. No one stopped the printing press because they were concerned about scribes. No one stopped the DVD because they were worried about what VRC repair men would do afterwards.

AI art is a tool, and it’s here to stay. Adapt or fall victim to the progress of technology. “AI art is sTEaLiNg” is some desperate nonsense that I think even those making it know deep down is BS. It’s the only argument being made because all the technical ones about quality, speed, and availability have quickly fallen flat. AI art is higher quality, faster, and more accessible to users than regular art and it’s not even a question. So all they have left is “it’s theft!” while conveninetly ignoring that it’s the same fucking thing they did to learn art, just in a much faster, more optimized way.

“If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts; if you have the law on your side, pound the law; if you have neither the facts nor the law, pound the table.” Artists are firmly in the table pounding stage.

  • Actually that is a human right. Countries are free to ally with whatever country they want pending any previous agreements. Eastern European countries made zero promises and had zero obligation to not join NATO. Russia doesn’t have fucking “dibs” on them, just like the US doesn’t have “dibs” on Canada or Mexico. I wouldn’t have a problem with Mexico or Canada willfully joining an alliance with China because that is, in fact, their right to do so. And it would speak volumes to how far relations would have had to deteriorate between them and the US to get there, but that is their right to do so. Maybe if Russia wasn’t such a shitty, untrustworthy neighbor, more countries would be willing to ally with them instead of NATO, but hey, that’s Russia’s problem.

Tbf, we should still be laughing at Columbus. He didn’t prove the Earth was round, we knew that already. He died believing he had “discovered” India. That and he was a racist, baby killing, monster that inflicted such barbaric actions towards the Native Americans that even members of his own crew were like “Whoa there. They might be godless savages, but this is really fucked up. What the fuck is wrong with you?”
