  • hey, scarface is solid, it is about a man who achieved everything he wanted, but because he was an asshole and fell into hubris, his life ended corresponding to this. Guy commits crime then recives punishment for it.

Breaking bad is telling that even such a weak man as Walter White can become a horrid monster if he won’t tame his pride and ego and let them guide him.

The Jocker is a commentary on what the hostility of modern society could do, and how unwelcoming it is, especially towards people with issues, mental and parental ones.

The other ones I either haven’t watched, or i had, and totally agree with your opinion on them, for instance, Rick and Morty is a shallow pseudointellectual show with stupid jokes whose main hero, not antihero, mind you, hero, is a psycho which does what he wants. Its agressive and childish nihilism disgusts me. Fight Club doesn’t, but if its your favorite, you must be 15. I can absolutely see why lots of people like it though

Have you studied history? If you had, you’d know that what we have now can be called such only if you’re the activist trying to push very certain agenda in very aggresive way. Women nowadays have the same opportunities as men. You can’t achieve something in your life? Congratulations, everyone has the objectives they can’t accomplish. Everyone have faced lots of shit including sexism and/or discrimination. Unfortunately, it is as it is not due any separate group of people, assholes could be found anywhere. You and me both most certainly were assholes in someone’s eyes too.

You’re a feminist? That’s nice, there are still lots of work to be done, like correcting the upbringing methodology, both for men and women. Just don’t forget, you’re doing this to achieve the equality, not to overthrow the balance, because by doing so you’ll cause the opposing side to greatly overreact, and in that case lots of progress would be undone. Don’t fuck it up please.

  • Finally, a someone with somewhat actually thought through opinion, not any ideological maximalist.

My main take is that capitalism is a shitty, yet reliable system that actually works through ages. I think that pure socialism is still too revolutionary.

What you said in your second paragraph is actually how I think about it. An engineering task. And in general, your opinion is something I can agree with.

P.S. I think, when social networks like lemmy will take over the corporative ones, we could discuss about socialistic revolution. All this fediverse thing kinda shows to people that you can be both non-profit and successful at the same time. Until then, we have what we have.
