Netflix has been profitable since 2003. This is greed.

If they didn’t cite a few sources I’d swear this is Trump’s account.
I’m sure there were nice Nazis too. The Republican platform is based on racism, homophobia, transphobia, and a disdain for democracy. Short of explicitly campaigning on returning the party to sanity, and even then I have suspicions, running as a Republican is an implied agreement with their hate-filled platform.
I’m not so sure there are “quiet parts” anymore. They want to turn America into a Christian nation, banning same sex marriage, all abortions at any stage, gender transitions, and no-fault divorce. At this point very few on the right would deny this.
I don’t think we should be poking fun solely on his appearance. Walking flesh turd maybe?
I think terms like “extremist” and “anti-LGBTQ+” are superfluous when we’re talking about a Republican.
But they do claim to care about babies
Yeah, HUUUUUGE lie. The right doesn’t say this. They care about the “unborn” and stopping “baby murder”. As George Carlin once said, “Prenatal you’re fine; Pre-K you’re fucked.”
Fox News has actually been selling the lie that this decision doesn’t change anything and impeachment will curtail any abuse of power. The frog will be slowly boiled to death at this rate. We can try to turn down the temperature or we can start pouring lava in the pot to make the frog go, “Oh, fuck that noise!”
I feel like we’re beyond defending democracy only when it’s convenient.
Exactly, which is why he should say “Fuck it!” abuse his power to the n-th degree to save American democracy and then face the consequences.
If I’m Biden I’d have a bill introduce to reform SCOTUS, Presidential powers, campaign finance, election administration, and more and say, “I expect this on my desk in a weeks time. I fear for the safety of our nation and our elected leaders if these issues go unaddressed.”
Then if a week goes by and no bill is ready to sign, two Representatives and two Senators (two Rs and two Ds) go missing. Another week? Another four go missing. This can easily repeat for 12 weeks before a majority of the Senate goes missing. Then, perhaps, some family members of the remaining legislators go missing. 🤷
Unprecedented times require unprecedented acts.
Run for office (mostly too late at this time of year), donate to campaigns or PACs, volunteer at the polls (making sure things are on the up and up), join protests, start boycotts for companies that support fascists, call people in your area to make sure they know about deadlines and locations, volunteer to work for a campaign, or get a job in government (ensure duties are being performed by the law). That’s only the stuff you can legally do.
Yeah, every accusation is a confession. I’m sure the GOP playbook for years has been: accuse the Left of doing X; do X yourself but in the name of trying to “level the playing field”.
Maybe Obama should have been charged, just to set the record straight, but likely this wasn’t attempted because (1) Trump was too busy grifting to put any weight behind this, (2) all of those killed were on foreign soil, and (3) they were all working with Al Qaeda. This is getting into the realm of whether or not killing an enemy combatant is murder and what really defines an enemy combatant. I’m sure there was also pressure from both sides to specifically not answer these questions.
Either way I’d rather live in a country where a President gets charged after leaving office as a rule, than live in a country where a President can practically burn everything to the ground and walk away untouched.
This particular trial covers events that happened during his presidency. Unless she says “Fuck it!” and declares most of his actions to be unofficial (which Trump will appeal) then there’s going to be some serious gaps in evidence.
YES! GITMO! I knew we kept that around for a reason. 🤩
Pretty sure their timing of releasing this ruling and immediate adjournment was no coincidence. I hope the conservative justices shit bricks the next time they’re all in the same room.
Which Congress would’ve approved this? The one that couldn’t get the federal minimum wage increased or the one that couldn’t pass a border security bill?
I’m guessing “The Blueprint: Obama’s Plan to Subvert the Constitution and Build an Imperial Presidency” was actually more projection than it was a condemnation of actual policies.
Direct from the decision (page 31):
If official conduct for which the President is immune may be scrutinized to help secure his conviction, even on charges that purport to be based only on his unofficial conduct, the “intended effect” of immunity would be defeated.
Not just killing, extrajudicial killing.
