I’m not arguing, I’m just honestly asking questions. Why is NATO imperialistic? From my perspective, they are trying to help an independent country defend itself from people who are trying to take it from them by force.
NATO actively pushed the Ukrainians into this war, because what is happening here is a proxy war. NATO, US and EU officials openly admit this, and even brag about it.
This war didn’t start in 2022. It started in 2012 with the Maidan coup.
Furthermore, if you think NATO is not an imperialist organization, then I don’t think you’ve been following what has been going on in the world since its inception.
I’m still a bit confused. It was Ukraine that was attacked by Russia and needed to defend itself. How did NATO push them into war?
Edit: and yes, of course I agree that members of NATO have had a past of imperialism. But does that really mean that they should be labelled an “imperialistic organization” as they stand today?
Thanks for answering to that guy. It was pretty obvious they were not here “just asking questions”, and also obvious they were downvoting any answer they got, but it’s good to engage the trolls and show other people reading the conversation the reality.
Between the Ukraine war and the Wagner coup, we’ve learned that if NATO ever wanted to come down on Russia like a tonne of bricks, the best Putin could do is blow up his roads and fuck off into a hole somewhere.
I sure hope Russia’s paying them, 'cause the alternative is even more depressing.
Oh, and I’m not pro-Russia - fuck Putin - but the Donbass etc voted to secede to Russia and the Ukraine bombed the shit out of them…so yeah. The US and, by extension, NATO, are supporting the war to keep it going because it’s a proxy war because Communism scary.
Why does he have so much support from NATO countries considering these points?
Look who’s just figuring out that nato is just rebranded imperialism

@SoLongSealion @OrnluWolfjarl they didn’t, and these people are talking crap.

I’m honestly unpleasantly surprised to see this much pro Russian propaganda, but it makes sense. Smaller platform means more radicals get a voice.

Because NATO is not “pro-democracy”. Portugal under the Salazar regime was one of the founders of NATO.
I’m not even anti-NATO or anti-Selensky, but man this is naive. NATO is a political tool like any other organisations funded by nations.
