Police deployed water cannon to disperse thousands of climate activists protesting on a highway in the Netherlands on Saturday to demand an end to government subsidies for the fossil fuel industry.
I’m not sure if that is the right photo somehow, or these people are not so worried about the water cannon. The people in the front are wearing swimwear, and the people in the back seem to be cheering for it to go to them.
Generally water cannons hit so hard they knock people off their feet, or wake people atleast run away.
I was also curious and found that this is probably a different warning nozzle, one that creates mist especially just to wetten groups of people. It seems different nozzles can be used, stronger nozzles are used when people do not leave.
