Fascists consistently fail to coopt furries because they can’t figure out what to do with the the over-the-top happy and cute eyes. The furries start from a baseline of expressing themselves in an overtly happy, friendly and cute way which just doesn’t mesh with the edginess or cruelty fascists want to present or do.

It’s the same reason fascists can’t coopt the My Little Pony fandom and I suspect it’s partly the reason the right rejects Disney and wants to reduce its influence on kids, in particular because it’s no longer unusual for people to like kids stuff as adults because the two audiences have merged a lot. You don’t have that shut off where people were like “that’s kids stuff you’re an adult now” that existed in the past.

You can’t really get people to pursue or support the kind of cruelty and horror that fascists want to perform if you don’t get rid of this stuff.
