Nope, the American will never accept a foreign made truck. The Toyota had some impeccable indestructible trucks and Ford and Chevy outsold them. At this point you need to sell a truck the size of a school bus to satisfy the average American truck buyer.
I see Toyota trucks all the time. They’re usually scratched up with toolboxes and shit in the bed. The American trucks are the pristine “pavement princesses” covered in chud stickers.

the US can’t compete with foreign made when it comes to smaller, efficient anything so the regulators stepped in to do protectionism 50 years ago. that’s why the only trucks you can find anymore of 4 door, tiny bed monstrosities and a shitload of actual tradesmen are rocking old pickups or fuckin awd subaru hatchbacks.
Red states are starting to make K trucks street legal as a way to have more work truck options available to folks, just completely ridiculous federal policy in this area.
Not quite true as the Tacoma and Tundra are always among the top 20 best selling cars in America. They aren’t perceived as foreign trucks because they are actually as American as they come- they’re built in San Antonio and designed for the US market. I often see them used as chudmobiles- full Trump regalia decked out in US flags, Punisher logos, blue line and NRA stickers galore. But yeah, the big 3 domestic trucks do outsell them overall.
I live in a place where way too many people drive pickups, and I’ve been seeing a lot more new Toyota trucks in the last few years.
I think it’s because they’re almost as big as an F-150 now and they sell them with factory lift kits and all the luxury crap that makes them look like any other dumbass Chevy Childsmusher 1500.
Toyota doesn’t have trucks sitting on lots. People love those fucking things in America.
Their new ones definitely are. They want upwards of 70k for the new Tacomas and the engines are all different now which rubs a lot of people the wrong way when theyre buying for reliability.

Tbf the f150, the most ameriburger vehicle of all, has 22 mpg.
We already have the Frontier, it doesn’t really sell amazingly but it sells.
I wish we’d get the international market frontier. But instead we’re stuck with the same 20 year old car, but with a face lift in like 2020.
