Why do libs seriously believe that Russia is still communist?
Have they been living under a rock for over thirty years?
Have they been living under a rock for over thirty years?
Functionally, yes. I’ve asked a few Americans to list what countries they think were still communist.
Not a scientific survey, but the most common answers were Russia and “there is none”. Second was China (which hey, at least they got China). A few people got Cuba and Vietnam. I don’t think I heard DPRK or Laos once.
To be fair, ask someone in the US what continent Laos is on and they’ll struggle
Dude, if you ask someone in the US what continent Canada is on they’ll probably struggle too.
Maybe, but at least they know Canada exists
Yeah good point

Why is it so hard to differentiate between the USSR and the RF?
A good chunk of the issues currently plaguing RF (with the majority of them being caused by capitalism, obviously) are blamed on “Sovok legacy”, Soviet bureaucrats in the government and similar nonsense. It’s actually quite useful as far as propaganda goes
Because blurring the distinction facilitates leveraging decades of propaganda that’s ingrained in older generations.
Same people saying Ukraine is definitely winning the war with superior might
Something something constant shifting of rhetorical focus.
I wish it was the RFSR
If only Russia was like libs depict it…
so is this admission that ukraine is losing?
Would it matter if they had the details correct? They hate foreigners and anyone that doesn’t let them strip mine their resources for pennies on the dollar. Whatever the details: democracy, dictatorship, capitalist, communist, western, eastern, etc, etc it’s all just fluff.
