A chip shop offering a £1 children’s meal helping families through the summer holidays say hundreds of young people have taken up the offer so far.

Mel’s Chippy in Carmarthenshire, Wales, has been selling the £1 meals since the start of the school holidays, which consists of a main meal, a portion of chips, a drink and a portion of fruit.
