While there should be some curation (or better yet, the great firewall) for kids in particular, I’d argue that the internet still ultimately is a net positive in this regard. For every child (or manchild) like this, IMO there’s probably a dozen or more who would have, without the internet to broaden their horizons, have wound up being raised even more racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, reactionary in countless other ways or just plain ignorant.
