A man wielding a sword attacked members of the public and police officers in an east London suburb, killing a 13-year-old boy and injuring four others, authorities said.
“Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the incident was “shocking,” adding: “Such violence has no place on our streets.“
A truly worthless statement from someone with actual power to make changes that would make people less inclined to commit public attacks. I’m presuming this guy lashed out from despair because of his surroundings, possibly economic pressures that Sunak and the Tory ghouls continue to make worse for everyone.
In the US people like that use guns, because they’re so easily accessible. Elsewhere people use other weapons, notably a sword in this case. Banning the weapon is unlikely to stop the next rando attack.
Opportunities like subsidized state mental health services and meeting someone’s basic human needs goes a long way in stopping someone from despairing so much that they attack randos on the street.
Tories are groß capitalists who don’t care to have those needs met for anyone but themselves

What would those changes be? Ban swords?
Not bleeding social policies dry?

Banning the weapon is extremely likely to stop the next rando attack, and the next one and the next one and the next one…
Then yes, someone will get a hold of a weapon and commit a crime, but dozens more were prevented
GTFO with your excuses
Steady on lad, no need to start attacking another user like that. You can disagree and be respectful at the same time.
When the next person uses a hammer, or an axe, do you suggest we ban hammers and axes?
Or when they ram their car into people, ban cars?
If someone had a car, specifically designed to injure, it would probably be banned. Swords are already banned for the most part.

For us old folks. Cars used to have mirrors mounted to the front bonnet. About half way down.
As those mirrors would puncher and sometimes kill people hit. They were banned at some 0oint in the 80s.
Sp even cars a cidently designed in a way that is unsafe. Are banned from production. And that is in the US as well.
Broadly already banned unless it is an antique sword. Decent rundown here
