Which is why events such as 9/11 have had such a shocking effect, to the point where I can type “9/11” and you’ll understand what I mean. It’s not limited to USA, of course. The British still moan about the Blitz. The defenders of Imperial Russia (who unfortunately exist) whine non stop about imaginary communist atrocities and civil war, ignoring the sheer butchery of the WW1.
