Walking in with an acchually in this way and calling attention to the number of fans is irrelevant at best, and at worst, undermines my attempt to call for cordial behaviour.

If someone says “let’s be cool to each other” and you reply with “yes, but there’s only three of them” then it looks like you’re saying that being decent is only warranted for large numbers.

There was no implication of mistreatment. That’s you putting intent and meaning into words that I neither said nor implied.
