Yeah the big issue is as you said. Ask someone on the right to name a bad billionaire. They will mention musk, bezos, Tim Cook, but probably only hating cook for being woke and money grubbing. The ones who pull the strings hide themselves. Nobody knows who they are they’re just CEO of x y z. There’s 750+ billionaires in the US, 15 in every state on average (though most of them are in cali, Texas, and ny). And they’ve spent a boatload of money getting very smart people to convince everyone they can that the problem is Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris. Tribalism is strong, and unfortunately people just lap it up.

As an aside I would say capitalism failed them. Society has existed and failed and evolved since people realized it was beneficial to work together. But that basic byline has always existed with those exploiting others. Roman society failed, feudal society failed, the first version of the US failed as a society, so on and so forth. In this lens, the version of society that failed is capitalism, or probably in this case late-stage capitalism

Yeah this is just the precursor to cyberpunk (both the genre and the franchise) where corporate CEOs move with militarized armed escorts and have free reign to control areas and traffic where they see fit

The thing that is entirely possible coming out of this is a boon for PMCs getting hired for far more visible corporate security. Hotels and roads shut down for CEOs as if they are heads of state. I guess it was inevitable and cyberpunk really is just life imitating art

As far as I can tell, 4chan still has their love for fascism, though it’s tempered. It’s always been my belief that many 4channers for a long time just really went hard on whatever was the worst thing they could do in the interest of hypertrolling.
