Hi,
Currently, /kbin will display content regardless of the language in which the content is written. I am running an instance that is intended to focus on content in my native language, but at the same time I don't mind users viewing and posting content in other languages. I myself follow several English-language magazines.
The result is that the majority of displayed content is in English.
To solve this problem, I propose that /kbin should include a language selector also for viewing. Ideally, each user should be able to predefine for themselves the sets of languages to be displayed. For example, in the settings, they should be able to create a list of the following sets:
- English
- French + German
- Swahili
- Swedish + Norwegian + Danish
and then somewhere on the top bar choose which content is displayed at the time. Sets should be named by user. I imgagine that some sets should work as a whitelist, and some as a blacklist. There also should be catch-all set and/or catch-all-other set.
The administrator should be able to create a default list of sets for all new users, and be able to select language or languages in which content will be displayed for non-logged-in users.
