The head of Xbox says he wants to make “the best Starfield” possible, despite previous comments about how the Bethesda game won’t see players selling PS5s.

After the bugfest that was Redfall, I bet they’re quite anxious about having another this year, and Starfield is a Bethesda game, so it’s going to be one.

Yeah, Redfall’s problems had a somewhat understandable backstory, but the result is the same:

        • Redfall was sold as a full-price title that was barely playable. Microsoft could have intervened, could still intervene, and they didn’t. For all we know, Spencer might be advertising “the best Starfield possible” and it’s similarly unplayable.
        • Microsoft has had a lack of blockbuster titles for a while. So, one of their two big titles this year turning out to be a dud, hurts. But both a dud, would be a lot worse.

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’ve heard Todd Howard say all of this before with previous games. Starfield is looking good, but Bethesda has always been very good with trailers and gameplay showcases.
