    The company has injected more than 4.5 million metric tons of carbon into the ground below its Decatur plant since it began operations. To put this in perspective, the plant emitted more than 4.1 million metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere in 2022 alone.

    So they basically took a chunk of emissions and said, I’ll bet we can make that double what it is now, but only if we also poison the locap water supplies.

    Yeah, nobody could see this coming from a mile away…nobody! /s

    These ‘carbon sinks’ that have all sprung up basically overnight are all a bunch of bullshit. They’re going to give everyone sparkling groundwater, and trade off the ‘carbon credits’ for real money, and nobody is ever going to question it.

      This is why carbon pricing should be done upfront. Pretty hard to lie about the physical volume of fossil fuels getting delivered to your factory
