I see network I upvote.
This monologue is one of the greatest of all time. Never fails to give me goosebumps.
It makes me think so much of Fox News.
“I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot. I don’t want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write.”
Don’t do anything that might make a difference, just yell and express rage. And keep on watching!
Yikes.
Later at least he tells them all to turn off the TV
Sure, but he doesn’t mean it.
Everyone reading this should watch Network if they haven’t already.
RIGHT NOW! GO TO YOUR LIVING ROOMS. TURN ON YOUR TELEVISIONS AND WATCH THIS RIGHT NOW! WHAT’S THAT GOT TO DO WITH THE PRICE OF RICE IN CHINA !
WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE THIS ANYMORE!
Michael Ian Black?
The message its self is not aligned with the overall message of the movie. Its a warning about/prediction of the rise right wing media, and the glorification and commodification of inflammatory content.
