What online retailers do you find provide good general goods? Not that I use it much but I find Amazon is getting worse and worse. I would like a somewhat similar convenience and catalog but without the trash and the stupid man. Thanks
Look it up on amazon then order from the manufacturer
It’s getting hard to find anything on Amazon not “made” by Fjijmac or Hignfny or something.
Right? I feel this may be part of the plan to stop people from ordering from the source. Have one factory in shenzin labelling the same product with dozens of nonsensical, unrememberable chinese names. Crazy how early in capitalism the name of the game was building brands and brand loyalty and in late stage enshittification the tactic seems to be to destroy branding altogether.
I love Hignfny!
they’re named like that because of Amazon’s rules lol
I’ve always wondered why they string random letters together. What does Amazon make the sellers do?
Step 1. Go to amazon
Step 2. Find product and track down manufacturer.
Step 3. Manufacturer only sells via their official amazon storefront.
Step 4. Repeat forever until the collapse of modern civilization. :(
Sadly, there’s not a singular ethical Amazon replacement out there. You’ve got alternatives like Walmart and Target but I don’t think they rate much higher than Amazon, honestly. I’ll throw out Grove Collaborative for cleaning supplies/home things/toiletries, Thrive Market for foods (though they have a membership fee), Kindhumans and Uncommon Goods for a wide variety of things. Here’s a list of some more places that might be useful - bearing in mind there is no one panacea.
Thank you!
I’m bookmarking that link.
I try to buy from specialty retailers not generalists.
Better odds that they actually vet what they sell versus a generalist that sells everything and knows nothing.
